RevComm Appoints Yasufumi Hirai, Former Rakuten Vice President, as President & COO

RevComm Inc. (headquartered in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Takeshi Aida, President; hereinafter “RevComm”) announced a reorganization effective July 1, 2025, establishing the new role of President & COO and appointing Yasufumi Hirai to the position.

Since its founding in 2017, RevComm has been committed to its mission of “reinventing communication and creating a society where people care about each other.”
With its proprietary voice AI technology, the company has transformed conversations across all business settings into big data through its flagship product, “MiiTel”.

After launching MiiTel, the speech analytics AI phone, in October 2018, RevComm expanded its offerings with tools such as “MiiTel Meetings” (for web conferences), “MiiTel RecPod” (for face-to-face conversations), and “MiiTel Call Center”, which are now widely adopted by many companies to improve productivity and eliminate the “black box” of voice communication.

In anticipation of significant business growth, RevComm appointed Yasufumi Hirai—who brings decades of leadership experience in the IT industry—as President & COO to further strengthen its management structure and drive innovation.

Mr. Yasufumi Hirai’s biography is as follows: After graduating from the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, Kyushu University in 1983, he joined IBM Japan, where he served as Assistant to the President, General Manager of the Telecommunications Industry Division, and Director, Software Division. During his tenure there, he also worked in the Corporate Strategy Division at the headquarters of IBM Corporation in New York, USA. From 2015, he served for 10 years as Vice President and Executive Officer, CIO and CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) of Rakuten Group, Inc. He has also served as CIO and CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) of Rakuten Group, Inc. for 10 years since 2015, overseeing a global engineering organization of 6,500 people. He is also a secretary of Keizai Doyukai (Japan Association of Corporate Executives), a specially appointed professor at Tokyo College of Music, and an outside director of a start-up company.

RevComm will continue enhancing the value of the “MiiTel” brand, staying true to its mission of reinventing communication and fostering a society where people care about each other.
